Our history.

Charter Security was founded in 1980 by Gerry and Joyce Lambert. Operating from offices in Barking, they set out to do things differently by offering customers an exceptional service built around their requirements not ours. Next, they agreed to value employees and provide a fair and rewarding workplace. Both of these objectives provided the foundations for the success that was to follow.

The company grew rapidly, providing value-adding security solutions across the South East. We relocated to our current offices in Cambridge Road in 2000 and continued to develop our people and services. Today, we're recognised as one of the leading security companies within London and the South East. In keeping with our corporate logo, when we promise clients something, we make sure we deliver.

Our long-serving and loyal workforce is supported by a quality assured process and has access to state-of-the-art technology. We've worked with hundreds of clients and have successfully overseen security at a number of prestigious locations including Waterloo Station, Tower Bridge, the Channel Tunnel Rail Link and more recently, the London 2012 Aquatics Centre.

Our clients also have the peace of mind of knowing that we've gained a host of highly regarded accreditations including the Security Industry Authority Accredited Contractors Scheme (SIA ACS), BS EN ISO 9001, BS EN ISO 14001, BS OHS18001, PAS 99, CHAS, SAFE Contractor and Link - Up.

In addition to these, we've been active members of International Professional Security Association since 1985. We are active members of our Professional Security Associations, our Police Associations and in addition members of our local Chamber of commerce. We are the main sponsors for the Barking Football and Rugby Club.
